Recruiting Tolson At-Large Committee Members

The Tolson Center for Community Excellence is seeking community members to serve as at-large committee members to serve on Tolson Board Committees.

The Board committees include: 

*Diversity Committee

*Finance Committee

*Fundraising Committee

*Governance Committee

*Impact Committee

The process to become an at-large member includes completing an application, participating in an interview, and committing to the expectations as a committee member. Below is what members agree to:

Committee Members agree to:

  1. Complete and submit the At-Large Committee Member Profile, Commitment Form and Conflict of Interest Form.
  2. Respect the individuality, dignity and worth of each board member and other volunteers, and work cooperatively with people of different backgrounds. This involves disagreeing respectfully with others when needed. Members should also refrain from disparaging or discriminatory comments related to ethnicity, religion, socio-economic status, age, gender, disability, pregnancy and immigration status while serving on the board committee. 
  3. Honor the confidentiality requirements of the organization.  
  4. Demonstrate punctuality, reliability and trust with regard to commitments. 
  5. Understand and complete their responsibilities as a volunteer and perform no service outside those responsibilities. Work with the best interests of the Tolson Center in mind.
  6. Accept removal from the Committee by the Executive Committee if commitments outlined in this document are not fulfilled.
  7. Be familiar with or willing to learn the tools that are needed for board function, including Google Drive, Zoom and other tools as needed.
